Description
The lighthouse at Cape Santa Maria is located on the Atlantic Ocean in La Paloma, Rocha, Uruguay. It was built and first lit on the 1st September 1874.Its structure is made up of a circular masonry tower with a red dome and white radial stripes.
It has a height of 30 meters and a luminous range of 20.5 nautical miles.
In the town there is a fishing port that the lighthouse constantly serves. It's a beautiful building, emblematic to La Paloma and is the most recognized building in the town. People can access their highest point and from there to enjoy the view and take pictures of the resort.
Visiting hours - Every day from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 20 minutes before sunset.
